Ya know I think I'm pretty knowledgable when it comes to the computer world. I can use a computer, I can figure out programs and the internet. But I do not understand Blogger. I don't understand the order of pictures and I don't understand why I can't cut and past my post and move it to the top of the pictures. Anyway. This is Spencer's kidney stone fiasco that happened New Year's Eve. He was nice enough to wait until after the ball drop to inform us he needed to go to the hospital.

Olli's first hotel stay

Well we're back to Rexburg. Oh boy. It actually hasn't been THAT been until about 3 days ago. When we arrived there was NO snow! Imagine that. There's usually a couple of feet for New Year's but this year nothing. The trip went really well and Olli slept most of the time. We took the trip over 3 days just to give her more time at pit-stops and time to relax at night. Spencer is in his last semester (hallelujah) and I'm loving my life being a stay at home mom. Olli is growing, growing, growing! At a 6 week check-up she weighed 10 lbs 12.5 oz and was 22.5 inches long, 75th percentile for both! She has been so much fun and no day is bored with her around. The past few days she's starting to stand for more than just a few seconds. Anytime she gets fussy I just stand her up on my lap and she stops to just look around like it's a whole new world! She has also found her hand and loves chewing and sucking on her fist. I can even put a toy in her hand and she'll hold onto it for 10 minutes or so and just munch away! A few weekends ago Spencer's Arizona family was able to come up to Utah so Olli got to finally meet Grandma and Grandpa Liljenquist and a few Aunts, Uncles and a bunch of Cousins. My sister Ruth also had a baby just after Christmas so we had a double baby blessing! Anyway, this post is kind of a mess but here's what you really want: pictures!

First Christmas!

We had such an awesome Christmas this year! We spent Christmas Eve with a few other couples who also didn't have any family close by. We ate an awesome lunch/dinner, played games, swapped white elephant gifts and talked for hours. Such fun. We woke up semi-early on Christmas morning and had our first family Christmas! It's so fun to start new tradition and carry over some old ones. Spencer and Olli waited in the hall while I made sure everything was ready and we had a fun time opening presents. Then we went to a wonderful Christmas program at the church on Bainbridge Island with some of my family's friends from way back when and had a delicious brunch afterward. It was so nice to relax before we get ready to make the long drive back to Idaho for Spencer to finish school. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our festivities as well as a super sweet video of Olli smiling!

Olli is now 3 1/2 weeks old and getting so chunky! I don't know how much she weighs since she won't go back to the doctor until 2 months but I bet she is close to 9 lbs now. She has been so fun and is still sleeping relatively good during the night and I'm actually getting accustomed to less sleep. We did have a bit of a rough day yesterday. We took Spencer to the dentist at 1:00 for a cleaning and consultation that took about 2 hours. He's had some pain in his jaw and a chipped tooth so we decided it's finally time to take advantage of our dental insurance. Turns our the pain in his jaw was caused by his wisdom took that never got removed. It was growing sideways into the root of the tooth next to it! Ouch! The dentist was going out of town the next week until the end of the month and we're moving back to Idaho after Christmas so thankfully she let us come back after the office was closed later that day. But when we tried to leave the office to pick up his prescription our car wouldn't start! We had to wait for an hour for a tow truck, another half hour to take us to the dealership, another half hour to get our car into the service department and over to Enterprise to pick up a car. By now we barely had time to make it to Walmart to pick up Spencer's prescription and get back to the dentist. But we made it just in time! Poor Olli was stuck in the car seat for the majority of the day and never got a consistent nap or meal but she was a little trooper. And Spencer had to get his 2 teeth removed and then had to go back the next day for some more a little more work but we are so happy that it's done and hopefully the pain in his face and jaw will go away. Anyway, here are some cute pictures of our stinkin' cute baby and a couple of videos of tummy time! They're all basically the same but cute nonetheless. :)

Olli had her 2 week check-up yesterday and everything went great! She weighs 8 lbs 4 oz which is awesome because she lost quite a bit of weight when we left the hospital and I've had a few struggles with nursing but this just put my mind at ease! She of course screamed the whole time because she HATES to be naked and holds her breath when she cries (screams) and it scares me to death but she was a trooper. The doctor said it was time to incorporate tummy time in our day so when Spencer got home today she got a little work out! It took her about 5-10 minutes before she was done but she did some good work!

Olli May

Well Olli May finally made her arrival on November 22 at 6:38 pm weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs and 20 inches long. So here's how it went down: I woke up that morning feeling pretty good and was just going to relax for the day (I had already started my maternity leave the day before). I had been having a ton of braxton-hicks contractions for several weeks but they were never painful. My stomach would just get very tight for a bit and then it would go away. Well around 10 or 11 in the morning they started again but this time I was getting a bit uncomfortable. Eventually I started timing them but it was so unsatisfying because they were mostly about 6-7 minutes apart but would range from 4 minutes up to 8 minutes. Around 2:00 the pain was getting pretty intense so I called Spencer and told him to come home, that I was gong to call the hospital and see if I could get checked out just in case. By the time we got to the hospital around 3:15 I couldn't even talk through the contractions but was expecting to be sent home because I wasn't far enough along. We go admitted, in a bed and checked about 20 minutes later and ta-da! I was 3 cm, 70% effaced and had a bulging bag of water (sorry if that was TMI)! So we were in it to win it! Now all we had to do was wait. I got my epidural around 5:00 and was measured at 6 cm right after. And then my water broke! About this time my good friend Katie Spencer came to hang out with us and take pictures. My doctor came in around 6:15 to check me and it was GO time! She had me do a couple of practice pushes to see how well I did and then she got suited up. Spencer even go suited up-she was going to let him deliver the baby! I pushed for about 10-15 minutes and then she came. It was so awesome and so beautiful and we are so happy that she is here! We got to leave the hospital Thanksgiving morning which was perfect because that's when my parents arrived. We've had a few rough patches which is to be expected with a newborn but everything is evening out and we're all getting the hang of things. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Camping

These posts aren't going to be in order, I mostly just blogged what I felt like at the moment. Last month we went camping with our friends the Vails and had a blast. We went on a little hike to a beautiful river where Eric jumped off the rock. Only Eric, it was a little cold for the rest of us. And of course Silas kept us entertained the majority of the time.

Portland and Pumpkins

We've been trying to be "adventurous" lately before this little one comes. A few weeks ago we spent a Saturday in Portland, Oregon which is only about 3 hours away. We went to the Saturday Market which is just a food and craft market every Saturday and we also visited the International Rose Test Garden which I image would be stunning during the summer but most of the roses were gone or dying when we went but it was still fun.
We also decided to get our pumpkins from a pumpkin patch this year! Neither of us had ever picked our own pumpkins so it was really fun. The carving pictures are soon to come!
Oh and of course here is a belly picture from a few weeks ago! This little girl is doing great! Hard to believe it's only almost 5 weeks away!

So what have we been up to? Well not a TON. We were able to go to LDS night for the Mariners which just meant we got a great discount on tickets and a T-shirt that says "Mariner's LDS Night". It was really fun! The weather was great, we just hopped on the ferry which is free on the way to Seattle, walked a mile or so to the stadium and watched a great game! We also went with some friends Eric and Jenny and their son Silas to see and add to the "Gum Wall". YUCK, but cool. We also went to eat at Ivar's which is one of their favorite restaurants.

Pregnancy update : I'm 25.5 weeks and the little monkey is very active! It's fun to feel the little kicks, punches, and turns and even watch my belly move. The picture here is from a couple of weeks ago so I'll have to take another picture soon!

Feelin' Crafty!

I've been feeling pretty crafty lately as I'm only working part time and have a lot more time on my hands. Plus with a baby on the way we're trying to -pardon my language- budget. Blech. If anyone isn't familiar with Pinterest.com, it's wonderful!! I find tons of DIY and tutorials there and give them a go. Here's the few I've started with:

I found some 12x12 canvases on sale for a SUPER good deal and of course with all of the coupons that you can find for craft stores it was even better! The only thing we (Spencer) had to do was add something on the back so we could hang them up! We then picked out some 12x12 scrapbook paper, spray adhesive, and BAM we found a cheap, nifty decoration for above our mantel!

Maternity clothes are way too expensive, especially if you're only going to wear them for a few months. And let's face it, the options at Goodwill are pretty limited. I am finally past the point where the rubber band trick works on my old pants so I found a tutorial to make my own! These were work pants that I didn't really wear anymore and the band is just an old t-shirt in a pile that was waiting to go to the goodwill! I think they turned out pretty well and I didn't spend a cent!

I LOVE these baby shoes. They were a little difficult and after being away from my sewing machine for a while these were great to kick my booty back into gear. They're a little big, probably 6 months (like I really know) so I decided to modify the pattern for next time make them smaller so Olli (did I tell you that's her name) can wear them when she's teeny tiny.

I made this little outfit to be worn with just a onesie and hopefully a yellow or gray sweater I have yet to find. These are the shoes that I made smaller and the little flower is a pin to go on either the bottom of the skirt or the onesie or the sweater!

We're Here!

We've made it back to Washington! And we just got our internet hooked up and it is FAR better than the connection we had in Idaho so I'm keeping my promise is updating my blog! Let's see... what has happened since I blogged last? Well how about just a few key updates. We found out we're having a girl! We had our ultrasound on July 12th and the ultrasound tech said she was perfect! Her size is great, in the 40th percentile which I am definitely okay with, and all of her insides look great! My due date is staying the same which is November 27th. The weekend after the 4th we went to an awesome family reunion for the Hopkinson side, which is my moms. The reunion was in Bear Lake at my parents cabin and we had such a blast! A select few of us rafted the snake river which was fun but TERRIFYING! But eh what's a few near death experiences huh? We played at the beach and had a fun day at the park with food and games. And for those of you who don't know or skipped the first line of the post we have moved back to Washington. Spencer is working on the same base as before but with a different program and he signed a contract for 3 years! Such great news especially when you hear about the struggles of the unemployed. He still has one more semester to complete next January-April when he will graduate but then we'll be BACK to Washington for good and I can't wait. Moving stinks. Right before we left my good friend Kyrie Anderson threw me an awesome baby shower. It was a little soon in the pregnancy but I don't know too many people in Washington and it was a combination good bye party. Loads of Spencer's family came, some of my family and great friends. We decorated onesies which turns out super cute and a few people wrote some advice to me in a scrapbook. And we got some great gifts. Thanks everyone! Well hopefully more will come but for now I'm signing off!

I really did try!

So over the past few months I really did try to update out blog but our apartment has a new service provider for our internet and it is SO finicky that it takes FOREVER to upload pictures and I end up giving up. So I figure I can at least tell you what we're up to and hopefully pictures will come later.
We've made it back to Rexburg in our old apartment. I'm still with Wells Fargo although there were no position in the Rexburg branch so I drive to Idaho Falls every day. It's about 35 minutes but I've recently started listening to audio books and it really makes the drive seem shorter. Spencer is still trucking away at school. Our nights often sound like this "I don't want to read, you read. No, I'm not going to school, you need to know this stuff, you do your reading. No you do it and go to school I'll go to work and count money." etc.... I know it's getting hard on him but he is such a hard worker and the end is in sight! We're still waiting on his official contract and job offer (he accepted the verbal offer last year) from his government job in Washington but we're still relieved that we have somewhat of a plan for after school.
We had a bittersweet weekend when Spencer's family came into town for his Grandma Denning's funeral. It was a sad but good thing, she has been in pain for a while and is now in a happier place. We were able to celebrate a few birthdays while the family was in town and although it was a quick trip, it was fun.
We've managed to make it down to Utah a few times to see family and friends and to my parents cabin for a fun weekend. We also had a fun trip to Las Vegas with Spencer brother Hayden and his wife Megan who we just love.
And..... WE'RE PREGNANT!! It's been a hard few years with 3 miscarriages but this one feels really good. And I say that because I do NOT feel good :). I've never really felt any nausea or morning sickness with the other pregnancies but man this time I feel it! We're 10 weeks along which is the farthest we've been and our 8 1/2 week ultra sound looked good! Our due date is the end of November so we still have a long way to go but it looks good. Thanks to all our family and friends who prayed for us, we know it helped! I promise I will try to post some pictures, hope everyone is well!

Resolution

I wanted to post while this is fresh in my mind, I've finally figured out my new years resolution for 2011. It sounds simple but can be a little challenging. "Find the silver lining." Bad things happen to everyone but there's usually so many more positive things that can get pushed to the side so my goal for this whole year is to find the silver lining with every challenge that comes our/my way. Here's the latest example. As you know we spent the past 5 months in Washington for Spencer's job. We were planning to stay there through Christmas and come back to Rexburg just in time for school so we could save as much money as possible. Well Spencer's brother Hayden decided to get married the week before Christmas so our plans changed. We decided to pack up our stuff, stop one night in Rexburg to drop off said stuff and then head to the Orem area until our flight 4 days later. Well on the day of our flight I woke up at 6 am throwing up! How could this be?? I couldn't even walk to the bathroom let alone walk through the airport with luggage and spend 2 hours on a plane. The whole day was awful throwing up every few hours, the last time actually on the way to the airport. So when my husband and brother in law decided to ask for a wheelchair I thought, why not? Here's the situation, now let me paint a picture of my appearance. Earlier in the day I tried to take a shower but ended up laying on the floor not even shampooing my hair. And not even bothering to comb it when I got out so it was matted to my head, snarled and greasy. And I was so dehydrated that my muscles and tendons in my hands and wrists locked up so I was left with misshapen claws. Anyway LONG story short I got pushed through the airport by an employee that pushed us straight the front of the long security line, we were able to skip the new fancy security machine and use the old walk through kind, pushed all the way to our gate, checked in, got a pre-board ticket and had a wheelchair waiting for me on the other side. We arrived in AZ and I was only out of commission for one other day. Silver lining: we made it through the airport in no time flat, got pre-boarded which is great considering I forgot to check us in prior and may have been left behind and I was able to enjoy the full 2 and a weeks in Arizona with my family and friends. One more quick example for those of you still reading this long-winded story. I'm now recovering from a nasty cold. Silver lining: it came after I was able to help unpack and put our apartment back in order. It came after I interviewed for a job. And I'm finally getting over it before starting said job tomorrow! Anyway ... just wanted to share that with you all, hope you've all figured out your resolutions and are sticking with them!

Awesome Weekend!

This last weekend was such a BLAST! I have tons of pictures but here's some info first. Spencer's parents as well as his sister Keriann and her family came to visit us in Washington! Thursday we went to Seattle and visited the Seattle Aquarium. Spencer and the kids loved the touch pool where you got to touch all sorts of starfish and sea cucumbers. My favorite part was the huge octopus! And of course the super cute seals and otters. That night we went to Forks and stayed in a hotels. Friday morning the boys got up super early to go on an all day fishing trip with a local guide while the girls slept in and then did the Twilight things! I'm going to have Spencer tell you all about his fishing trip which he loved, and I'll tell you all about Twilight. This isn't where the movie was actually filmed but it was where it supposedly took place. So although none of these places are the real deal it was still awesome and we had such a good time. We actually wanted to stay an extra night in Forks but the hotel was all booked up for the weekend and they said they've been like that pretty much every weekend since the movies came out! When the boys came back from their fishing trip we all went out to La Push beach which is on the Quileute Reservation and totally beautiful! After a bit of exploring we went to Port Angeles an stayed the night. Saturday we woke up and went swimming in the hotel pool for a bit and then went and had lunch by the beach. After that we went to Seqium (pronounced Squim, weird I know_ and we went to the Olympic Game Farm which is like a drive through zoo. most of the animals come right up to and sometimes IN your window to get bread but some o the animals were kept behind cages for good reason! The buffalo's were HUGE and so smelly!! The elk and some of the deer were not shy and trotting right up to the cars to get heir slice of bread. After the game farm we stopped to do some impromptu fishing and blackberry picking before heading home. Keri and her family had to leave Saturday night but Spencer's parents stayed until Sunday which mean we got some time to do a little extra exploring and relaxing. Such an amazing weekend and so fun to share it with such great people! So here's a ton of pictures and check back for Spencer's post about his fishing trip!

By the way-we've moved!

So, by the way we moved to Washington! Spencer got an internship with NAVFAC which is most simply put the civilian engineering workforce of the Navy. Basically, he gets all the benefits of the navy and a government job without actually being in the navy. We live in Bremerton which is across the water from Seattle so on clear days we can actually go to the top of the city (which is where we live) and look over the water to see Seattle! And of course if any of you are Twilight fans, Forks is only 3 hours away! We haven't gone yet but we have plans to go this week when Spencer's family comes to visit. We did, however, make it as far as Port Angeles (another Twilight city) last weekend and one of the pictures posted is of Bella Italia, the restaurant where Bella and Edward supposedly had their first date. Anyway, we haven't taken many pictures while we've been here but we have dome some exploring. We visited Lake Cushman with some friends that go to School in Idaho also but were home here for their break. the boys jumped off a bridge and a rock into the lake and we went for a short hike to a close river that I was foolish enough to jump into. (Oh don't worry Robin, it's totally warm. psh) On the way to the river we found a HUGE fallen tree that was super cool. We also took a day to explore downtown Seattle which was fun. And it managed to stay dry until the very end of the day when we were on our way home. We took the "Ride the Ducks" tour which is a part land and part water tour with crazy but fun tour guides (see video). We also had plans to go to the Seattle Temple which is over an hour away, but realized in the parking lot that Spencer didn't have his recommend but we got some good pictures which is the start of a new goal of ours to take as many pictures in front of temples as we can! Anyway, hopefully I'll get in the habit of taking more pictures so I can publish more posts but I hope this finds everyone well!

Our last weekend in Idaho we went to see the Blue Angels Air Show in Idaho Falls. Despite the nasty sunburn it was so much fun!! They started out with a few smaller shows and then brought out the Blue Angels! I can't believe how talented and in sync they are. We went with my parents and my sister Ruth, her husband Clint and their two boys.

Camping

In June we went camping with friends of ours, Mindy and Austin and David and Jessica and Champ (dog). We went to Mesa falls which is only about an hour away from Rexburg but so beautiful. There was an upper falls and a lower falls and we hiked to both of them although getting to the lower falls was a bit tricky. We also took a night hike to an old abandoned train tunnel which was super cool except us girls were super freaked about bears!!

For Memorial Day weekend we took some friends of ours to my parent's cabin in Bear Lake. Such a fun time! My Aunt and Uncle were there with some of my cousins and we all had a great weekend.

All right so I'm a little behind but sadly, I don't really have anything new to update. I just wanted you all to know that we're still alive! We really have turned in to quite the boring couple with some our good friends moving away. Michelle and Kaulana and their little girl Maddie moved to Hawaii (I know) since Kaulana got an awesome job there and our other friends Nate and Andrea moved to Washington for Nate's internship. We are very happy for both couples of course and we know our time is coming! Of course we still have a few friends left but the pond is getting dry!
Spencer is still looking for internship opportunities although he has several good leads, I don't think he'll stop until he has the best. I'm still working at Wells Fargo. We've put up curtains. I'm now blonde. The Easter Bunny brought me a really good Easter basket which, if nothing else, I actually have a picture of. We did have another miscarriage, but like the last, we've tried to find the blessing. Last time we decided to get into financial shape and now... we're just trying to get in shape! That's right, we've started going to the gym :). It's been pretty good and just a few days a week but we're starting to see a difference! Of course I'm sure we'll see even more of a difference when we stop drinking soda and chowing down and deep fried junk but hey, one thing at a time! Well that's all for now! Fun times in AZ

We were fortunate enough to make it Arizona for Christmas and had such a fun time. I love spending time with family and the warmer 60 degree weather was a nice change to the negative temperatures we were having here in Rexburg! Spencer's family Chrsitmas party was the weekend before so his mom came up to Idaho Falls for that. Then we went to Mapleton and picked up Hayden and drove the rest of the way.

We spent some time with my mom and she took us to dinner at Julio G's. Yummy!

We also went to the Mesa temple to see the Christmas lights. I think this temple and the SLC temple are the only temples to have Christmas lights.

Snowmen are so overrated! At Spencer's sisters house in Mapleton, Utah they made the most awesome snow...animals? The colors were a combination of food coloring and spray paint.

Spencer's brother, for some reason, found the desire to kick the head off the penguin and might I add that he nearly broke his foot doing so!

So we haven't been taking many pictures but we've taken some since September so I'll update you as we go. The top pictures were taken in October at one of my best friend's wedding in Salt Lake in Memorial Park I think it was called. There wa s a break between the ceremony and reception so we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL scenery. The bottom pictures are halloween obviously, we spent it with our good friends Michelle and Kaulana and their cousins Tommy and Brittany.

I know I haven't updated the blog in a while so here's what is going on with us with a few random pictures. I'm still plugging away at my job at Wells Fargo as a lead teller. We have such a high turnover rate that I am now the senior most teller at our bank. I work hard but I enjoy most of the work and the people I work with so it's okay. Spencer's job at the paint shop at BYU-I ended as he is now off track and you have to be enrolled full time if you want to work there so for his break he found an internship with a local construction company. He just started this week so we'll see if he likes it. We've spent a couple of weekends at my parents cabin or as I've recently heard my sister call it, they're "lodge".

We spent a few days in Arizona for one of Spencer's best friends wedding. It was nice to get away but I'm realizing how much Rexburg is growing on me. Our good friends Michelle and Kaulana and their little girl Maddie moved back to Rexburg so we're happy to have more friends around! I got my sewing machine out and finished some pillows for our couches from material I bought back in January and also a purse from material I got back in March. I think they turned out pretty cute.

I've also recently been introduced to http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/. Hilarious but there is some profanity and some disturbing pictures so view with caution!

Oh and college football has started so I'm hearing more ESPN and seeing less of Spencer.

4th of July!

For the 4th Spencer and I, Spencer's cousin Kevy and his wife Nicole, and Spencer's brother Hayden went to my parents cabin in Bear Lake, Idaho. SO much fun. I'm a little bummed we couldn't go to the lake but still so much fun. Saturday morning we went to the Minnetonka caves and did some exploring. And then of course we lit fireworks that night. Don't worry Mom and Dad the cabin is still intact. We also got some great raspberry shakes and yummy food, played some games and went on an awesome 4-wheeling ride. What a great weekend!

Well the title is pretty self-explanatory. Spencer's sister Katie got married a few weekend ago and we were lucky to be able to go to Arizona even if just for a short trip. I mean a very short trip. We drove to Salt Lake Friday afternoon, flew out Friday night, did wedding stuff all day Saturday and flew back Sunday afternoon. Short but sweet. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and that is when I realized my husband looks really good in this color of green. Or as he likes to say, he looked like a mint oreo. Yum. :)

I hate mosquitos

Spencer and I went hiking the other day, and when I say the other day I mean like 3 weeks ago, because it has been a long time since I've updated. Anyway,we went hiking up "R" mountain and it just made me realize even more how much I hate mosquito's. Although it was pretty good motivation to keep going because anytime I had to stop to take a rest, mosquito's would SWARM. I was so thankfully that I brought a long sleeve hoodie even though it was like 70 degrees out. Here are a few pictures and yes I'm very out of shape that is why I have a pained looked on my face.

With our recent pregnancy Spencer and I were suddenly faced with the "Oh crap how are we going to afford a baby" state of our marriage. Although the pregnancy ended sadly we feel we've been given a second chance to get our priorities in order before we start a family. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their concerns shown when we had our miscarriage. It was a hard time but we're doing great now. Now back to business, I got a job at Wal-Mart! Anybody who knows me, knows I love Wal-Mart so it was only a matter of time before I took a job there! Spencer has been so busy with school and his part-time job and it seems whenever I'm home he's always doing homework so I just end up watching TV, so I just figured I might as well do something worth while. For all those wondering, Spencer did NOT make me get a second job. It was completely my choice and I choose to work now to put my husband through school. I also figured, hey, he'll be working for almost the rest of his life, I can do my part now. I've been working about 4 nights a week as a cashier and so far so good! The small break between jobs is pretty rough but once I actually get to the store and start working the night goes by fairly quickly. My feet hurt and my back is killing me, but it all feels better when I think of our future, (and Spencer gives me good massages when I come home).

The Trip

We decided to take a little trip down to Arizona because Spencer had a week off between semesters, I had a week off of work, and we thought it would be fun to be home for Easter. We left after I got off work around 7 on the Friday before Easter and drove all night until we arrived in Scottsdale at about 1 pm on Saturday. It was such an awesome trip we didn't want to come back! Here's some random pictures including the drive down, the pit-stop in Las Vegas, and the Hoover Dam!

Spencer's Latest Project

Looking for a lil side project that was cheap (free) to fit the budget. I found some old auto paint in the paint shop, where I work at school. Well family this might not look too familiar anymore, but it is actually Julia's old board that sat in our garage forever. I wanted the silver to look like liquid metal (Check out the detail) under the ever so awesome checkers, and it turned out very cool. The sprayer helped to do all the work I just dressed up like I was a so called pro and aimed. The auto paint flexes with the board and the epoxy coating is super uber strong and flexible too. BAM! how bout that? This was a good sample for how the ski benches may turn out when i get back to aztown?

Calling and hair cut

I'm finally posting pictures of my own haircut. I keep getting shorter and shorter and I think I even want to go shorter! We also got our first calling in church here in Rexburg. We are the teachers of the 4 and 5 year old CTR class. Oh my. Great calling for Spencer, I am terrified. Pray for me. I'm sure we'll have many posts to come about this. Spencer started school on January 7th and as a result of attening BYU-I had to cut his hair and shave his bear. I was pretty sad to see them go but the outcome wasn't so bad. Here's the before and after:

I bet you were thinking you were going to see Spencer with a nice neat haircut. HA! He came back with a "faux hawk". It's so him isn't it? It's short enough that he can leave it down and it looks pretty normal but spike it up when he's in the mood. He hadn't shaved his beard yet but I'll let you use your imagination for that. I also recently chopped off another few inches of my hair but can't seem to take a good picture so you'll have to wait and see!

Christmas in Bear Lake

I just realized these posts are somewhat a bit out of order but oh well. So for Christmas Eve and day we spent the night at the cabin in Island Park. But the weekend right after Christmas the Piggott family met at our Cabin in Bear Lake. It was so great to have the whole family together, which hasn't happened since our family vacation in May. The cabin is still in the process of being finished but with a full working basement it was nice and cozy.

I've had a few pictures and posts about our friends Michelle and Kaulana. Michelle is a good friend that transferred to the bank about a week after I did. Well I'm as proud as an aunt to announce they had their baby! Madelyn Kalea (Kalaya) was born December 15 (their 1 year anniversary) with a head full of black hair! She is so cute and such an easy baby, and of course loves her Aunt Robin!

Catching Up

I realize I haven't updated in a while, and I wish I could say that we've just been too dang busy, but truthfully I've just been too dang lazy! Well we did have a quite a bit happen over the last month or so but laziness was the number one factor. So it's time to catch up!
First Christmas:
Spencer's good friend Dallin and his wife live right down the road from us, and Dallin's family owns a cabin in Island Park which is a cabin town about an hour from us. Since I had to work Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas we went there for a few days! Every Christmas the parents get all the kids matching PJ's and since we were there with them they got some for us too! Christmas Eve we ate fondue, which is their tradition, and had a delicious prime rib Christmas night. Lots of games and food and good times! The best present that day? Our KitchenAid from Spencer's parents!! Thanks a bunch!

Thanksgiving

Spencer and I and two other girls from work and their husbands were all stuck here for Thanksgiving so we decided to have our own! We were a little nervous because it was a first for all of us and we've never made a turkey before! Michelle and I went shopping and picked out a 12 lb beauty named Bertha. We took as many tips as we could and it turned out awesome!! We had turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, stuffing and gravy. And for dessert we had 2 pumpkins pies, pumpkin bars, banana cream pie and a chocolate cream pie. Delish! I now have the confidence to say that if we're ever not able to go home for Thanksgiving again, I can make a turkey! Although I did call my mom after the turkey had been cooking a few minutes past the time and asked what the button looks like when it "pops". I included a pictures of the popped button for those of you who don't know.

We can afford premium!

For the first time in a LONG time, we can afford premium gas. We probably won't get it because, hey, why pay 20 bucks when you can pay 17 but the fact alone is very comforting. I drive by a gas station usually twice a day to work and back again from lunch and by the time I'm heading back after lunch gas drops 1 or 2 cents. Insane! We're at 1.75 and premium is 1.95! I don't think I've paid that since I've had a license. Just wanted to express my happiness! Love to all.

We borrowed our neighbors Wii to see if we wanted to buy it for ourselves for Christmas and one of the games we rented was Wii Olympics. I cannot get through one event without breaking down in tears from laughing! These videos show what I came home from work to today. One is the 100m sprint and the other is fencing. Hilarious.

I've been trying to come up with new things to make for dinner and one of them I came up with is... wait for it... homemade pizza! Risky huh? Well not entirely homemade, we bought the little box of Jiffy pizza dough mix at the store and all the fixin's and put it together at home. We just had a little trouble getting it out of the pan. It was still yummy though!

It has been so long since I have made gingerbread houses, if at all so we thought it would make a great FHE! We bought the pre-built houses at Walmart that came with the frosting and all the little candies to go with it. A few weekends ago we were supposed to go camping with our friends Kaulana and Michelle but the weather took a drastic turn and we were forced to cancel. It was then that Spencer and I realized, we haven't taken our air mattress or sleeping bags out of the packages since we got them. So we decided to camping in the living room! With our cool matching beanies of course, it can get cold out there!

This last weekend Spencer and I went to Salt Lake to see a Odyssey Dance production of Thriller. I absolutely loved it!! I saw it a few years ago and just had to see it again. It's a bunch of little mostly comedic dance skits that have to do with Halloween. We went with my best friend Jeannine and her friend Tierra. Before and after the show they have zombies walking around and we happened to catch a few!

About a month ago while looking for a gift for my brother and his bride for their wedding, Spencer and I came across this kit at Target. It so much fun! It's all the pieces for a Mr. Potato head pumpkin! There's were several different outfits, we chose the pirate and got my brother a vampire. Tons of fun and a lot safer and cleaner than carving pumpkins, although I'm sure you'll soon see posts of that too. I only recommend using a bigger pumpkin. Casanova is quite cute, but he's a little squished.

Ice Caves

We went exploring with some friends of ours in some nearby ice caves that were pretty cool! Technically they're civil defense caves but people just call them the ice caves. There's not really ice inside unless you look deep inside the cracks but it's freezing. They are pretty deep though. We probably walked about a mile in and didn't even get to the end. I also found big foot's foot on the wall. Hmm....

A few weeks ago Spencer started a job with a guy he has known for a while helping him out doing construction jobs. This is what happened his second day on the job. There was a hole in the thumb of his glove and as he swung his hammer and went to move his hand, the glove got caught... and you guessed it! He even broke the nail he was hammering! Ouch.He has also turned into to a bit of a cowboy! The guy he works for, Dave, being the best cowboy around, often gets calls from different associations to help with cattle drives and Spencer has been able to help! He doesn't get paid as it's just volunteer work but he loves it! Soon enough he'll even wear his cowboy hat.

So the other day while Spencer and his buddies were putting together a puzzle, someone made a comment about funnel cakes. I thought... I could probably make those! So I hunted down a recipe and took a trip to the grocery store and started my mission. They did look as pretty as the one's at the fair, but they were delicious! We had jam, syrup and some powdered sugar to top them off.
Oh and by the way I cut my hair as well. I'll put more pictures up when I actually take a good one!

Our wedding gift from the Liljenquist nieces and nephews was an awesome bowl of fun little toys and games to do on our honeymoon. On of the toys was this little dinosaur egg with dinosaur bones inside and an assortment of tools to help chip out the bones to put together. You can see Spencer had a blast with it. I also helped but that's the joy of being the photographer!

Okay so I'm still getting used to the whole blog thing so they're few and far between but I'm getting it! What's going on with us recently, you wonder? Well not a whole lot. A few weeks ago we went to visit my parents at their Cabin in Bear Lake. We took the "fast" route on the way there and the "scenic" route on the way back. The scenic took a little bit longer but was way prettier to look at at. That is until I saw SNOW!! I couldn't believe it, snow already. Luckily it was high up in the mountains and the weather is still pretty warm down here. Whew. Here are some pictures of the nice scenery!

My First Sunday Dinner

So our first Sunday here I cooked our first real Sunday dinner in our own apartment as a married couple! Yay! And I didn't do so bad if I say so myself. We had fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and we used our new dishes and our new placemats and napkins which were a gift from my Grandma and Grandpa Fyvie.

Okay, the moment you've all been waiting for is here, we're bloggers!! Now if I can only figure out what to put in these things. Here we go.
Spencer and I just moved to Rexburg, Idaho so Spencer could attend BYU-I in the winter. Let me tell you, this is a small town. And it's cold and I'm not very fond of either but it's definitely growing on me. Well more the small part than the cold part I don't think I'll ever enjoy the cold much. But I promised Spencer that come winter I'd go snowboarding with him with the new snowboard he got me for my birthday so I guess I better suck it up.
We've been super busy since we first got here. Spencer got a job as a painter with a company called Project Pros and I got my job as a teller at Wells Fargo transfered here to the only Wells Fargo in Rexburg! The first weekend here we spent at my parents cabin in Bear Lake, Idaho and last weekend was my brother Scott's wedding in Logan/Blackfoot. Both were very good weekends. I think I'll put this on hold while I think of more things to write. Stay tuned!
